Irish Genealogy Databases - Search through 2,000,000+ Records

As part of its role in making Irish genealogical records more readily available the Ulster Historical Foundation is continually adding new searchable databases to this site. These databases fall into three categories:

  • Databases which are free to any visitor to the website;
  • Member-only databases which are only available to paid-up members of the Ulster Genealogical and Historical Guild;
  • Pay-to-view databases for which individuals must buy credits to access the data. Note: Guild members receive substantial product discounts on these databases but they do not get free access to them as part of their subscription.

Our Births, Marriage & Death (BMD) records cover:

  • Virtually all civil marriage records for Counties Antrim and Down, as well as a portion of South Armagh (1845-1921)
  • Virtually all Roman Catholic registers of baptisms and marriages for Counties Antrim and Down prior to 1900 (as well as funeral records where they survive)
  • A large number of Church of Ireland and Presbyterian registers of baptisms and marriages for mid, south and west County Down
  • A large number of Church of Ireland and Presbyterian registers of baptisms and burials for the city of Belfast
  • Civil birth records for Belfast (incomplete)
  • Burials in Belfast City Cemetery from 1869 onwards
